Sunday 14th April 2013

Today's session was blighted by heavy rain and moderate winds, however this did not deter the Cygnets from fishing. There were fish showing around the Mill pond so the Cygnets were eager to start. Following the session safety brief the Cygnets drew their first platform to start fishing. The Cygnets move platforms after a period of time throughout the session to make the session fun and fair. The Cygnets miss 2 platforms at every move and fish the next.

There was good sport today with a number of Cygnets hooking fish around the Mill Pond. One Cygnet Cameron Smith struck it lucky after the second move when he was fishing at the bottom corner. Cameron got his 2 fish limit within minutes and went on to release a further 4 fish within 20 minutes. There was a large shoal of fish sitting at the outflow. Throughout the session this was most definitely the hot spot. There were a few fish hooked at the top end of the pond at the start of the session. Unfortunately after the break after the second move the pond started to colour at the top end of the Mill Pond. With the water becoming dirty at the top end of the pond the fish appeared to move down to the bottom corner.

The Cygnets fished hard despite the heavy rain and strengthening wind and water becoming dirty. As the session was near to finishing the rain stopped and the sun came out!!!!

Lure such as the Cats Whisker, White Nomad and Blob, stalking bugs such as the Ricky Special, Hares Ear were the successful patterns today.

The Cygnets were asked at the break from fishing to elect and vote for 2 of their A Team to become part of the Junior Committee. There were only 2 nominations and both Cygnets were proposed and seconded by their Cygnet members. The junior committee elected for 2013 was Alasdair Anderson and Robert Fyfe.

The next Cygnets session is on Sunday 28th April at 09:15am for start of fishing at 09:30am.
