FUN DAY

Today was a glorious sunny morning after the fog and frost burnt off. There were 17 Cygnets in attendance and they were delighted that Paul Young joined them for their end of season fun day.

Paul Young came along today to see the Cygnets.

At the start of the morning our fly tying instructor Jimmy Miller showed and had the Cygnets tying Orange Blobs.

Today was a fun day for the Cygnets. The fun started with the Cygnets being split into three groups with the team leaders of each group being Morgan, Robert and William. Each group was set a challenge of target casting into hoops and then casting at balloons in an attempt to burst them.

Alasdair and Robert Fyfe showed the Cygnets fishing tackle from a different type of fishing. They showed the Cygnets the tackle that they use when fishing in the sea for Skate, Spurdog, Tope, Blue and Porbeagle Sharks. They showed the Cygnets the rods, reels and terminal tackle that is required for "Big Game" fishing.

The next Cygnets meet will be for fly tying on Sunday 20th November starting at 10am. Fly tying will continue over the winter months every second Sunday.

Details of next seasons fishing will be posted in due course.

There is a fly tying shield that will be presented at the meeting in March.

Remember Cygnets that you can come along and fish at Swanswater at anytime to keep up your skills or practice your techniques.

Often after fly tying the Cygnets go fishing on the Mill Pond.

Most Sundays the waterside assistants are there so they often stay on and can offer assistance and advice as they do during the Cygnets fishing season.

So come on Cygnets come along to Swanswater throughtout the winter months and catch some trout.
